Vision and Values

Our mission at Westville House School is to prepare pupils for confident and fulfilled adult lives and to make a positive impact on the world.

We achieve this through four pillars: academic achievement, skills, interests and values. Together, these pillars prepare our pupils for life beyond school, encouraging, nurturing and challenging them to maximise their potential.

Westville children have a strong record of achievement and regularly attain prestigious scholarships to local, selective and non-selective independent senior schools. We are proud of the exceptional pass rate for entry to Bradford Grammar School, Ermysted’s Grammar School and Skipton Girls’ School.

‘Leaders and managers at all levels in the school prioritise the school’s mission of promoting family values and nurturing happy children. Leaders have designed an extra-curricular programme which offers a range of activities and promotes pupil wellbeing.’ Independent Schools Inspectorate 2024

Inspiring teaching and an extensive co-curricular programme combine to provide our pupils with an exceptional array of opportunities in music, sports, the arts and much more. We offer a classical, high-quality, all-around education with a forward-looking and exciting approach to learning.

We are located in an idyllic woodland setting providing a nurturing environment for children to begin their educational journey. Great outside space, modern light and airy classrooms, specialist teaching areas for art, science lab, music and IT, hint at the extensive facilities available for every child. A full-sized, multi-purpose hall provides every opportunity for the children and wider community to display their talents. In addition to hosting a wide array of sports, theatre style seating makes the hall an excellent venue for musical and drama productions. Complementing the hall is the school sports field which provides space for a range of athletic pursuits. Our outdoor classrooms, woodland, secret garden and field to fork initiative ensure diverse learning locations for every child.

"The physical development of children is nurtured by opportunities to explore and play both indoors and outdoors."
